Terms of use
Last updated: October 2026
Draft for review. This page was written as a sensible starting point for launch. It isn't legal advice and should be reviewed by a qualified UK solicitor (and completed with your business details) before the site goes live.
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use In The Loop (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree to the version shown at signup, our community guidelines and the rules attached to any feature you use. We keep a record of that acceptance.
2. What In The Loop is — and isn't
In The Loop is a discovery and introductions platform. We help creatives and the people looking for them find each other. We are not a party to any agreement between members, we don't employ or act as agent for creatives, and we don't currently process payments between members.
3. Accounts
- You must be 18 or over to create an account.
- Keep your login details secure and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- Information you provide must be accurate.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us a non-exclusive licence to display it on In The Loop and in promoting the platform (always credited to you). You confirm you have the right to share it. You can remove it at any time.
5. Opportunities and agreements between members
Posters are responsible for choosing the category that reflects the real arrangement and for the accuracy of their brief. Commercial deliverables must not be disguised as volunteering, a community collaboration or a skill swap. Members are responsible for the agreements they make with each other—including scope, price, delivery, payment, intellectual property, insurance and tax. Confirm the important details in writing before work begins.
6. Moderation, reports and appeals
We may decline, label, hide or remove content—including Common Room messages—limit features or suspend an account where we reasonably believe these terms, our guidelines, safety rules or the law have been broken. We may preserve relevant records and share them where legally required. You can ask us to review a decision.
7. Borrowing, hiring and sharing
Members are responsible for checking items, agreeing collection, return, deposits and any hire fee, and using equipment safely and lawfully. In The Loop introduces members but does not own, inspect, insure or guarantee items and does not handle payments. Use the sharing checklist, record condition at handover and confirm the arrangement in writing. Prohibited or high-risk items must not be listed.
8. Fees
Basic membership is free. If we introduce optional paid features, commission or fees in future, we will tell you clearly in advance and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
9. Liability
We work hard to keep In The Loop accurate and safe, but we can't guarantee the quality, safety or legality of work offered or opportunities posted, or that members will honour their agreements. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from dealings between members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
10. Consilea gifts
Consilea is a separate retail service. A gift link may take you from In The Loop to Consilea, but any quotation, order, payment, delivery, return or customer-care arrangement is handled under Consilea's own customer terms.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your settings.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
